Homie — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026 Effective date: 22 September 2026

Homie (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Mobtive, provides AI-powered interior and exterior design generation in a mobile app and a web app at homedesign.lol. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Photos you upload

When you generate a design, your input photo (a room, home exterior, or similar space) is uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage in a folder unique to your device. We strip GPS coordinates and other EXIF metadata before the upload. The photo is sent to our AI image provider, ivCreator, so the model can redesign it; the provider processes it to produce the result and does not use it to train models. We do not send your original uploaded photos to other AI providers. Optional web insights share the generated result with OpenAI, as described below.

Homie’s features are designed around rooms, furniture, and exteriors — not people. If a photo you upload happens to include a person, we do not extract, store, or process face templates, faceprints, face geometry, biometric identifiers, or facial recognition data of any kind.

Optional generated-design analysis

When you select Cost Estimate or Shop the Look on the web, we send the generated design image and its design description to OpenAI to produce text suggestions. We do not send your original uploaded photo to OpenAI. Prices and paint colors are approximate suggestions. These optional features are not needed to generate a design.

1.2 Prompts and content screening

The text you type for a design (for example “sage green walls, walnut sideboard”) is sent to Creem’s Moderation API before generation to check it against our Acceptable Use Policy. Creem stores the prompt and the decision for audit purposes under its own privacy policy. Prompts that are denied are never sent to an image model.

1.3 Generations

We store the result of each generation (the AI-produced image) plus a small record of metadata (feature used, timestamp, cost estimate) so we can show your gallery and enforce usage limits.

1.4 Account identifier

On first launch we create an anonymous Firebase user for your device. This identifier lets us enforce daily generation limits and track your Pro subscription without collecting any personally identifiable information.

If you choose to upgrade by linking an Apple or Google account (optional, in Settings), we’ll also store your email address and display name.

1.5 Subscription state

If you purchase Homie Pro in the mobile app, RevenueCat processes the purchase on Apple’s or Google’s behalf and tells us whether your subscription is active. If you purchase on the web, Creem, our merchant of record, collects your payment details, billing address and email to process the payment, issue invoices and handle taxes, and tells us whether your subscription is active. In both cases we never see your card number.

1.6 Diagnostic & usage data

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (which features are popular, how long users stay) and Firebase Crashlytics to fix crashes. These collect device-level information (model, OS version, anonymized usage events) but not personally identifying data.

1.7 Advertising (free users only)

Free users see banner ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers for advertising purposes; you can limit this in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking. Pro users see no ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate the AI room, staging, style, or exterior design you requested
  • Show your gallery of past designs
  • Enforce free-tier and Pro daily limits
  • Verify and renew your Pro subscription
  • Screen prompts against our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Diagnose crashes and improve the app
  • Show ads to free users (via AdMob)

We do not sell your data. We do not train AI models on your photos.

3. Data Retention

  • Input photos: deleted from Cloud Storage 30 days after upload.
  • Generated photos: kept until you delete them from your gallery.
  • Account record: kept until you delete your account.

4. Your Rights & Choices

  • Delete a generation: tap any photo in your gallery → Delete. Both the Storage object and the database record are removed immediately.
  • Delete your account: in the mobile app, Settings → Delete My Account (visible once you’ve linked an Apple or Google account); on the web, the account panel at homedesign.lol/app. All your data is wiped within 24 hours.
  • Reset by reinstalling: uninstalling the app does not delete your cloud data if you’ve linked an account; use “Delete My Account” instead.

EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, portability, restriction, objection, automated-decision review). To exercise these rights, email [email protected].

California residents have rights under CCPA. We do not sell personal information.

5. Children

Homie is rated 4+ and not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email [email protected] and we’ll delete it.

6. Security

Photos and account data are encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest (Firebase Cloud Storage uses AES-256). API keys never reside on your device — all AI calls go through our authenticated backend.
